CSV (Comma Separated Values) is a text-based file format typically used for the storage or exchange of database-like records. In BD-J, CSV is used to store data via parsing.

A CSV file stores table data (numbers and text) in plain text, where each line of the file typically represents one data record. Each record consists of the same number of fields, and these are separated by commas in the CSV file.

In Microsoft Windows systems, it will commonly open in Excel, but it is not a proprietary format and can be used in many other programs.
